About the Workshop


The Essence Workshop is a one-day, boutique photography experience designed for beginners who want to truly understand their camera, feel confident using manual mode, and create meaningful photographs of everyday life.


Not a loud classroom.
Not technical overwhelm.

We begin with a gentle introduction to what makes a photograph feel beautiful, calm and meaningful — shifting from “taking pictures” to truly seeing.

You’ll finally understand ISO, aperture and shutter speed — and how they work together in real life.

Learn how to work with natural light and how to frame your subjects to create balanced, story-led images.

A guided photography walk around beautiful Cambridge locations.

You’ll photograph what inspires you — street scenes, details, nature, people, architecture, everyday life — while receiving gentle guidance and encouragement.

Do I need any photography experience?

Not at all. The Essence Workshop is created especially for beginners — a calm and supportive introduction to photography.

What kind of camera should I bring?

Any camera with manual settings is perfect — DSLR, mirrorless or compact. If you’re unsure, you’re welcome to ask before the workshop.

What will we photograph?

You’ll photograph whatever inspires you — people, details, streets, nature, light, everyday life. This workshop is about learning to see, not fitting into a genre.

What gear should I bring?

This is a paragraph. Click edit and enter your own text. You can make changes like making the text bold, underline or italic. This is a great place for you to tell your clients more about your story and to describe the type of photographer.

Will there be lots of people?

Places are limited to 8 participants to keep the experience calm, personal and unhurried.

What should I bring?

Your camera, a charged battery, a memory card, comfortable shoes, and an open mind.
